This workshop will be the second of four sessions that build on our recently published report "Making Smart Cuts: Lessons from the 1990s Budget Front." The workshop provides an opportunity for senior agency leaders and senior human capital leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities of rethinking the way they reduce and reshape their agency’s workforce and building skills and capacity to meet future requirements.

In a panel discussion, federal C-Suite executives will present their approaches to meeting four acute human capital challenges associated with workforce building and restructuring during budget constraints. Thereafter, workshop participants—COOs, CHCOs, CFOs, ASMs, CBOs, and key central agency personnel—and their deputies will work with these presenters in facilitated break-out sessions around these challenges.
