Building the Enterprise: A New Civil Service Framework (Streaming)

The American public relies on government to handle an array of critical issues, from protecting the food supply and the environment to caring for veterans, strengthening national security and overseeing the economy. But the federal civil service system, designed more than 60 years ago, doesn’t do its part to achieve these missions. It was designed for a far different workforce – not for the work that government does today.

What would a modern civil service system look like? How would long-needed reforms allow agencies to more effectively achieve their missions? To answer these questions, the Partnership for Public Service and Booz Allen Hamilton have crafted a framework for a more modern civil service system. Our goal is to spark a debate and a long overdue dialogue about creating a system appropriate for today’s challenges.
