Federal Advisor Strategy Package 2012-2013

Millennials make up 25 percent of the national workforce, but only 8 percent of millennials work in federal service. We work to inspire a new generation to serve in federal government, because we understand the importance of developing talent pipelines into government. As part of our year-long programming, Call to Serve introduces the Federal Advisor Strategy Package comprised of a strategy session with Partnership staff and two virtual summits with agency representatives.

In the virtual summits, we will connect campuses with agencies and explore topics such as student opportunities in federal service, hiring trends at federal agencies and mission-critical positions.

In addition, all campuses will receive an individualized one-hour strategy session with Partnership staff about how to build agency relationships and create a sustainable federal service campaign on campus.

What's included?

Virtual Summit I: The New Pathways Programs
Dec. 5, 2012, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EST
Don’t miss this chance to make connections with agency representatives while gaining insight on the changing federal landscape and hiring reform. With the new Pathways Programs in effect, this interactive summit will allow a select number of college and university representatives to interact directly with agencies regarding their use of the Pathways Programs in recruiting for internships and entry-level positions.

Virtual Summit II: Government Careers in Mission-Critical Fields
Feb. 7, 2013, 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. EST
Government agencies cannot achieve their missions without the right talent. During this summit, Partnership staff will facilitate a discussion about federal agencies’ mission-critical talent needs and the variety of ways agencies get this talent in the door. Agency representatives will be on the line to discuss their strategies for attracting mission-critical talent and their top tips for students and jobseekers interested in federal positions.
